PUZZLE GALLERY

This section presents a mixed grill collection of Steve Ryan puzzle creations for television, newspaper, magazine and book formats.

Classic Concentration Rebuses

Here we see one of Steve's original rebus sketches.  He first visualizes the completed rebus in his head and then carefully draws the pictures and letters in the twenty-five grid squares.  The final sketch is then turned over to a talented staff of NBC artists, who meticulously recreate the rebus in full color for your television screen.

Here is that completed rebus.  See if you can solve it.

That's right!

Copley News Service/ CREATORS SYNDICATE

Whatever your puzzle preference you're sure to find something in Steve's cornucopia of cerebral calisthenics that has appeared through CNS for more than 30 years. Spanning four decades,  his Puzzles & Posers and Zig-Zag features appeared in more than 150 newspapers nationwide.  Steve's prolific output actually outlasted CNS.  His features are now part of the Creator's Syndicate line up.

Here we see three evolutions of Steve's Puzzles & Posers feature...

When the mixed grill of puzzles was launched, it was called Puzzle Cards...(mid 70's)

...within a few years, the feature became Puzzlerama... (early 80's)

...And by the end of the decade it appeared as Puzzles & Posers and has continued to run under this title to present day.

Steve's Zig-Zag feature has also appeared in newspapers across the US and Canada for more than 30 years.  Here are a couple of examples.
